STALEMATE

The STALEMATE Project at mozdev Mozillates the Knowledge-Based System Design Environment at GNU. The object is to Web-enable the bare-bones, text-oriented KBSDE by utilizing Mozilla's native user- and system-interfacing facilities.

In conjunction with the STALEMATE KDD Lab at SourceForge.net with its focus on the research theme "Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining on the World-Wide Web" and on decision-support applications targeted mainly at the financial markets, the STALEMATE mozdev Project's goals include:

  • unite with other mozdev projects involving client-side development tools targetable at B2B/professional users to leverage the high-end, server-side development focus at Netscape
  • use of XML and RDF in system interfacing, such as in enabling inference
  • Java integration through Blackwood
  • use of XML in user interfacing as in XUL and of speech recognition and generation as in the Access-Mozilla Integration Project
  • application of virtual reality (VRML and variants) and computational intelligence to arrive at virtual intelligence for user interfacing
  • provide support for the Mozilla Open Directory Project as a potential broad-based user group for data-mining, data-warehousing and knowledge-base extensions of the Mozilla search capability
Requirements specifications, a global design and a roadmap are currently being drafted and to be made available as:
